On Wednesday, June 1, in Riga, on Marijas street 5, the Ibis Riga Center hotel, which is a part of the international AccorHotels chain, opened its doors for the guests.

The hotel offers 125 rooms with themes of chess, music and newspapers. Ibis Riga Center is located in the center of Riga, across the street from the Riga Central Station and 400 meters from the Old Town of Riga and the Latvian National Opera. The Ibis Riga Center has a restaurant and a bar. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

The hotel occupies a historic building, constructed in 1895. Its soundproofed rooms are decorated in contemporary fashion. Each room has a flat-screen TV. The private bathroom with toiletries includes a shower and a toilet.

In the courtyard contains the Ibis quarter, where during the summer various themed events will be held – game evenings, a book market and master classes for children and adults. Along with the hotel a concept store for books and wine – BOOKY – was opened, where people can buy books about art, music, lifestyle and fashion.

“Ibis Riga Center is the first standardized 3-star hotel in Latvia,” said Alexey Abasov (Abasov Oleksii). “Ibis Riga Center is our most profitable project, as it was relatively easy to set up and has the lowest cost component comparted with other Accor hotels.”

Alexey Abasov noted that in 2016 the AccorHotels network updated the design of all Ibis hotels around the world, and accordingly, the Ibis Riga Center is in line with all the new standards and designs upon its opening.

“The location of the new hotel was also not chosen by accident,” said Abasov. “It is one of the busiest places in the city, furthermore, the plans for the construction of the “Rail Baltica” project make this project even more significant in the context of the developing infrastructure of this place. It is noteworthy that the Ibis Riga Center is a rare example of how an Ibis economy class hotel is located in an architectural monument, as is done with the hotel on Marijas street.”

It is worth noting that this building has already housed a hotel before, thus the structure and layout of the building has allowed the developers to implement a sufficient number of rooms in a hotel in the heart of the city with lesser costs.
